Blade Details

12C27 is part of a family of seven grades of Swedish stainless cutlery steel produced by ALLEIMA. (ALLEIMA is the new name of Sandvik MATERIALTECHNOLOGY since September 2022). This steel is derived from 13C26 steel used in the manufacture of razor blades. It is also used in the manufacture of ice skate blades. Like all steels in this range, it has a structure with a very high density of secondary carbides. However, despite a hardness of between 57 and 59 HRC, it is very easy to sharpen.
